May Fest 2016

12th Annual FPSH Spring CLinic at Rancho del LagoMay 6-8th

May Fest at Rancho del Lago, in partnership with the Foundation for the Pure Spanish Horse, will offer something for everyone! The three day event features Howard and Erica Peet helping participants with "in-hand" work (private and group lessons), Michael Vermaas offering dressage lessons for every level of rider and/ or Working Equitation lessons, a W.E. clinic, seminar and schooling show. Special surprises during the seminar and amazing demonstrations. After a scrumptious pot luck lunch on Saturday, we will enjoy a schooling show (in hand, DSHB, saddle classes) and a W.E. practice show, with ribbons to the winners! The Saturday event will end with a delicious catered dinner and time to visit with clinicians and your friends! Absolute deliciousness! Private and group lessons will be held Friday and Sunday. You may also play on the WE obstacles on Friday afternoon.

We ask that you bring something for a pot luck lunch on any day that you participate - Friday, Sat, and Sunday. A continental breakfast will be provided daily, and a catered dinner is planned for Saturday night. As usual, we will have a silent auction. Any donation would be greatly appreciated – horsey or non-horsey! Books, jewelry, tack, children’s items, clothes, riding apparel, goodies, treats, etc.

Because individual lessons with Michael and Howard and schooling show entries are limited due to space and time constraints, you are encouraged to register as soon as forms become available. If you have any further questions, please call Judy at 979-299-4785 or Walter at 979-292-5784. Or contact the Foundation for the Pure Spanish Horse directly.

Put May 6,7 & 8th on your calendar. You do not want to miss this equine event of the year! Look forward to seeing you!

ANNOUNCING NEW STUD PROGRAM

ONLY PAY STUD FEE ONCE MARE IS IN FOAL!FEES: Rolled Back TO '06 PRICES

DEAR MARE OWNERS, Rancho del Lago is happy to announce a new program for those breeding to our stallions. If you go with Rancho del Lago for your stud service, you'll pay a stud fee only after your mare is confirmed in foal. It's not too late to breed your mare. Our 3 National Champion stallions with nearly 200 show titles have produced over 160 foals, including many National Champions. There's no need to worry about owing a stud fee if your mare doesn't take. You'll pay only the breeding cost up front (for the disposable equipment involved). We ship anywhere or can do everything on site at the ranch.

Surveys show that the characteristic most valued in a breeding stallion by mare owners is good temperament. Well, take a look at about 2 Dozen Offspring Of Our Guys (VIDEO!).

Welcome to Rancho del Lago

We're Glad You're Here!Walter & Judy Henslee

RANCHO DEL LAGO sits nestled in the quaint countryside of McDade, Texas - approximately 35 miles east of Austin. Specializing in producing the pure Spanish Andalusian (Pura Raza Española), Andalusian Crosses, and the Peruvian Paso, Rancho del Lago proudly offers award winning horses at fair prices.

A ranch visitor once asked us, “Why do you suppose you’ve sold so many horses to numerous buyers in recent years?” Our response was simple: “Because they found exactly what they wanted.” (We've sold over 100 horses to 60+ buyers since 2004 in 17 states and even Europe).

Rancho del Lago horses and their offspring have been awarded approximately 400 Championships, Reserve Championships, High Point and Movement Awards in Regional and National Shows.

From this award winning stock, Rancho del Lago offers a very competitive foal crop each spring. For those with adored mares they’d like to breed to outstanding lines, we stand 3 grand champion stallions at Rancho del Lago.

Rancho del Lago strives to produce exceptional horses, offers a considerable range of services, and would love to visit you about your horse needs.
