Rancho Del Lago - Walter Henslee
Walter Henslee - developed a
love for horses as a young teen when his family moved to Lancaster, just
south of Dallas, Texas. The family owned a bay mare and Walter's horse
was a paint. He roamed over the woods and creeks of south Dallas County,
in the same region where the legendary foundation sires of the modern quarter
horse, Steel Dust and Shiloh, were raced.
Walter is reliving his second childhood with the acquisition and breeding of Peruvian and Andalusian horses. A PhD analytical chemist, Walter has worked for Dow Chemical's Texas Operations for the past 25 plus years and retired in 2004 with the rank of Scientist. He is now a gentleman rancher, but still does a little consulting on the side.
He is able to combine several of his interests with his love of horses. These include his children, photography, travel, writing and cinematography.
