Peruvian Horses of Rancho del Lago (Click on horse's name for more infomation.)

Everyone breeds for Gait; If your stallion isn't well gaited, it shouldn't be a stallion. So what Else do you need? Maybe it's a powerhouse rear end, bone, size, refinement, brio, shortening of the back, neck insertion, hock angle or shoulder angle. The secret of successful breeding is to pass the dominant good traits of a great sire without altering the good traits that the mare already possesses.

  a few RDL bred foals.

We strive for: Elegance of the neck and proper shoulder angle; Powerhouse rear end; Correct Hock Angles and short pasterns

Stallions and Stallion Prospects

RDL Legendario - an exciting chestnut with four white socks and a blaze who says "Look at Me". Maybe it's the 12 U.S. and Peruvian National Champions in his pedigree. He has 3 Versatility Awards, 3 Reserve Championships, a Championship and made Champion of Champions in 2005 at age 9.

Carino RDL - National Champion of Champions Performance. This 1998 bay stallion is out of JMC Caricia by Senior de Sipan. He is big and strong with a flashy front end and good drive. We crossed him to three mares for 2003 foals (see photo gallery page).  Sale Pending

RDL Invencible - an exciting 2005 colt out of RSV Andromeda by 3 X National Champion of Champions RSV Inolvidable.  This is one to watch!

RDL Increible - a flashy buckskin stallion out of RSV Dulce Amor by 3 X National Champion of Champions RSV Inolvidable.  His full brother is already making waves in the breed, winning multiple championships in both breeding and performance.

Broodmares

RDL Coqueta - a palomino granddaughter of Piloto and RDS Me Llamo Peru. A rare combination of gait, brio and beauty. This one's a keeper. She has the body and gait for breeding and the brains for performance. Her 2003 foal by RDL Carino is on our Photo Gallery page.

FF Lindera de Oro - a buckskin filly from the MSR and AEV lines who has it all. She is a granddaughter of World Champion Antares and National Champion Lindera MSR.

RSV Andromeda - 2001 chestnut mare by CM Soberano, Canadian National Champion son of Piloto with more show wins than any other Piloto offspring.  In 2005 she foaled a chestnut colt by National Laureado stallion RSV Inolvidable.

RDL Dulce Milagro - 2003 bay mare by our National Champion of Champions stallion, Carino RDL, out of RSV Dulce Amor.  Sold in 2008.

Geldings

Monte Lindo - our National Champion of Champions Amateur Performance Horse, with 60 first place and special titles. He exudes charisma and that's why his story and photographs have been in so many magazines and newspapers.

RDL Relampago - 2004 palomino gelding out of RDL Coqueta by RDL Legendario.  He was bound to have a smooth gait with those parents.  Sold in 2008.
