Kim has always had
a deep love for horses. She is an all round equestrian. In addition to
Peruvian horses, she is an expert rider of Andalusians and Quarter horses.
She is equally comfortable with English, Western or Peruvian tack and enjoys
stadium and cross country jumping, dressage, ground work, trail rides,
and tricks.
The opportunity to have her own horse finally came in 1992. She began competing in Peruvian horse shows in 1993. As a teen, Kimberly competed in 22 shows, winning 18 titles. She won 14 high point and 4 reserve high point junior titles, including the 1994 and 1998 AAOBPPH National Shows and the 1995 and 1998 PPHRNA National Shows. She was the 1995 PPHRNA High Point Junior, 13-18. In 2003, she took our Peruvian stallion, Carino RDL to National Champion of Champions and our Andalusian Stallion, Magico VIII to Absolute Champion stallion and also Best Movement of show.
She has also competed successfully in adult amateur classes, riding horses to a dozen reserve championships, championships and champion of champions titles at regional and national shows in California, Florida, Indiana and Texas. She has traveled to Spain, Peru and Mexico. Her horse adventures have been featured in several dozen magazine and newspaper articles in North and South America.
