Judy Henslee - has always had
a fondness for animals. She grew up as a city dweller in the city of Houston,
Tx. When her husband, Walter suggested that they move to the outskirts
of Lake Jackson and buy horses, she wasn't too certain about the proposition.
However, such a beautiful place was found for sale that she couldn't resist
and it was "good-bye city life".
To everyone's surprise, she soon discovered that the quiet serenity, still within a short drive to the mall, was literally the best of both worlds and she developed a strong affection for the gentle nature of Spanish horses.
The first horses we purchased were Quarter Horses as one might expect, living in Texas. Judy's back had been injured when she was rear ended in college by another vehicle. She found it painful to ride trotting horses even for short periods. After her first Peruvian ride, she was sold. The following year, 1994, we purchased our first Andalusian.
Judy is active in all the behind the scenes aspects necessary for a successful ranch program. She is very well read on health, diet, breeding, foal care and techniques to gentle, rather than break, horses. She has also hand made all of our winning costume class entries.
